ATF told the ASA (American Silencer Association) at SHOT show that they only have one person part-time reviewing the 41P comments, and that it would take a year or more to determine if they are even going to move forward with it, and if they do, what the final rule will actually be.

Basically, trusts aren't going to be affected at all for another 2 years at least.

Awesome. !!! My trust is gonna be ready next week. I  was  getting kind worried I was gonna have to have all the nfa items I wanted submitted in the next month. I live in county that the cleo will sign off but its pain in the ass.

Nobody knows what the changes will be, if there are any at all.

ASA posted a statement about their conversation, and 1Q15 was the expected date...not 2 years. (Comments closed Dec '13, a year to respond, 60 days to implement, ~Mar '15)

Again, it's just an estimate...but I think we all agree it's not 6/1/14. And the reality is they could fire off responses to everybody, not wait the normal 60 days, and it goes into effect on Monday. This administration has proven they don't care about following protocol.

They could do that, but it would make pending suits over violations of the APA even more viable.
