We all know you can't edit an eForm that has been submitted, but I know I read several different times that it was possible to go add another attachment to an eForm that was in Submitted/In Process.
I decided to try it today, and wondered if what happened to me is the same experience others had. I was able to: 1. Log into EForms 2. get to my list of Form 1s that are Submitted/In Process 3. Choose the icon in the far right to view my form 4. Go to the Electronic Documents section 5. Choose Browse and pick a file, plus a type and a description 6. Click Add and the file shows up at the bottom 7. Click Save and get a popup that says successful (And then the problems start) 8. Click Go Home and get a pop up window that says changes not saved due to status of form 9. Return to home page and my "tree" now has a Draft section 10. My original form are intact, in Submitted status, but the new attachment isn't there 11. There's another copy of the form in the Draft portion, with matching ID number, but no submitted date or permit number I don't think I'm out of luck as far as the Submitted forms go, unless they get rejected. I'm curious for two reasons: 1. For anybody that tried it before, is this how it worked before they shut down the system? 2. Will the new attachment be visible to the examiner when they look at my original form since the ID number matches? I sent the question to Ask The Experts...just curious if anybody else had the same results. |

I messed up with the OAL and put down 10.5 inch barrel in .300blk with OAL @ 19.5 inches . That OAL does not count the buffer tube and fully extended stock . I added the correct info in the document and it was approved. I did do the "ask the experts" thing and got a reply from Ted Clutter and was instructed to do so. I then went sneaky sneaky and asked him to "check out" my form 1 |

My issue is the one discussed here several times where the trust name has a date attached. My trust has a sentence that reads just like this, including all formatting (with obvious name change): This Trust shall be known as "Lastname Living Trust, dated the 26th day of July, 2013" I engraved all my lowers with Lastname Living Trust, and that's all I put on the application. I've seen stories both ways posted, of some getting rejected and some getting approved in the same situation. I'm going to just let the four paper forms ride, and if they error out I can correct them. Hoping to get the four F1s I have from 12/24-1/28 handled with the new attachment. The amendment simply removes the quotes and puts just the Lastname Living Trust in bold, with all the legalese, witness signatures and notary stamp required. Fingers crossed that I'm ok. I have two more F4s that SilencerShop faxed the F3s this week, and is updating the trust I sent them to add the amendment before they file the F4s. Only thing left is a single F4 that was eFiled 1/25 with the original trust. Not sure if F4s are more likely to get approved with this "error" maybe due to dealers getting more benefit of the doubt over customers, or it's just luck of the draw as to which examiner gets the application. Kinda nervous with my first 11 stamps pending at the same time with no approvals, error letters or EForms rejections to give me a little "feedback"...knowing they all have the same potential error. |
| Not sure about the name of trust issue but I think you MIGHT be ok. One thing that I do know is attaching documents to make changes/amendments is possible. Some folks here messed up the uploads of their trusts, signatures missing, missing dates, and so forth. Me, I was able to add an "additional configurations" to ensure approval. I would shoot over an email just in case...ymmv. Good luck. |

As I understand if, you submitted your form, and at some later point you added another attachment, right? Did the new one show up as Draft, or was it visible on the Submitted eForm? |
| Yes it showed up in draft and yes it also showed up on the submitted form as well. Do not delete the draft. If you do, all will erase. Sorry if I wasn't clear earlier. The only reason why I know is because when I did this, I asked Ted to see if the added doc was present and it was. |

The only reason why I know is because when I did this, I asked Ted to see if the added doc was present and it was. Cool. At this point I'll just wait it out. I'm at 120+ days on the first two and >90 on the other two. I did send the email to Ask The Experts, so we'll see. I'm actually a lot more confident about it this morning. Yesterday, the new attachment was only on the Draft copy. Today, all four Submitted forms are showing the new amendment as well. ETA: after further inspection, all attachments are now on both copies. ETA: at the bottom of the Certify section of the Draft forms, it has the same "Your application has been SUBMITTED for processing." note as the actual Submitted/In Process copy. |

Finally got a response from my Ask The Experts question.
My question:
I know that eforms that have been submitted cannot be changed. However, I was told earlier that additional attachments could be uploaded after submission. I have four eForm 1s pending, with the following ID/Permit Numbers: (numbers removed). They have been Submitted/In Process since Dec & Jan. I know there are the ongoing issues with eForms that don't allow new Form 1s to be filed at this time. I can log in and view my forms. I was also able to go the documents section, select a file/type/description and hit Add. The new document then appeared in the lower section. I then hit Save, and got the pop up window that said it was successfully saved. Next, I hit the Go Home button, and got the pop up that said something along the lines of "can't be saved due to the status of this form". I did this for all four of my forms. It's now showing all four Submitted forms, but also shows the same ID numbers in Draft status. The new attachments show up on the Draft forms but not the Submitted forms. The new attachment is just to clarify something that seems to be hit or miss with examiners as to whether it causes a problem or not. Will the examiners be able to see the new attachment when they go to process my forms? Their answer:
Good morning: I have checked all 4 forms and the additional attachments with the clarifications are properly associated with the forms as can be seen in the one screen shot below, as an example. (Screen shot was attached) My follow-up question:
Thanks. When I checked the next morning, it looks like something reset or synced up. All attachments are now on both the Submitted and Draft copies. I assume we just let 'em ride at this point? (As in I don't need to delete the Draft copies?) Thanks for the reply! Their answer:
Please do not delete the draft copies. If you do it will delete the submitted copies also. Thanks. Just figured I'd post that communication in case anybody had a similar experience. |

However I still may get caught because mine has "The BDF Gun Trust," Dated March 4, 2014 The comma inside the " " has got me worried. You never know how they will do you. What could've caused even more confusion, or let them approve it (who knows?) is that at the top if my Certification if Trust it says: The name of the trust is the Lastname Living Trust, dated the 26th day of July, 2013. No quotes at all...and only the name I wanted to use (and had engraved) in bold. The best news of it all...I got my first stamp in the mail this past Sat. No need to send in the amendment I had drafted and notarized. But I don't think I can bet all 11 are handled the same. I did correct my four F1s...I got SS.com to update my trust on the two cans they just faxed F3s in last week. My only other EForm is an F4 filed in late Jan. Local dealer will try to get amendment uploaded just in case. |

BigWaylon,
I am very happy you posted this. A while back I realized one of my submitted forms did NOT have the attached Schedule A. I did what you did and got the same error you did. It showed up in draft. I thought that it didn't go through, because ever since I submitted I cannot view the whole submission, only the .pdf of the application. Perhaps there is hope yet for mine! |

You can't log into to EForms and view all the stages if filling out the form? I can click on the "eyeball" icon to view the form, then go to Electronic Documents and see my attachments. Once you're in the sections where you filled everything out, there's a separate button up top to view the actual eForm. |

It has been a while since I tried to log in again. I was about to go try to show some screen shots of what I see, but of course it is shut down today.
Long story short, I can see the menu on the left side of the screen (Draft, Submitted, etc). When I click on the form, I cannot go see everything. It just sits and acts like it is pulling up the information but doesn't. Pretty much all I can see are the submitted Forms and the .pdf of the application. Perhaps after this latest shutdown things work better and I can 'see' the information. I access it from a work computer, so changing internet browsers is not an option. I have just taken it in stride and am waiting for the glorified email that says my stamp was approved, or the horrible email that says otherwise. I submitted 11/29, so we are getting close! |

When the system came back up a couple weeks ago, it actually works pretty fast every time I've used it. It is down all day on Wednesdays for maintenance, instead of being down for 4-5 one hour times every day. You'll click the tree, and see Form 1. When you click Form 1, you'll get a list of your forms in the bottom of the big window. The icon on the far right looks like a page with an eyeball. Once that opens, you should be able to view the form, as well as all attachments. I have a couple screenshots in the Visual Guide if you want to see what it looks like. I'll just repost them here to make it easier.

Yeah, but when I click on the eyeball, it doesn't display the information (as depicted in the second picture). It is just busy and never changes to display the information.
I appreciate the help buddy.I am going to log into eForms tomorrow, so we will see. On the bright side on NFAtracker, I see where a form submitted on the same day as I did was approved today! |
|
Bringing this back to the top since eforms is working again for F1s, and since I've already seen one person mention they forget to attach something before submitting.
Just to follow up on this...all four of my F1s were approved with the Amendment added, as was the F4 that my dealer updated. First two paper forms were approved without the Amendment...next two received an error letter. So, I'm glad I uploaded it. |
