In April of last year I created a trust, filled out a form 1 for a SBR, sent it in and it was approved. However, I did not learn of the approval until I called the ATF to check the status and learned that it had been approved in November and I never received the stamp. I am guessing it is because I changed addresses but I did put in a forwarding address with USPS. The ATF lady told me to fax her a letter with the name of the trust, my address etc... I did that and received my signed form 1 but no stamp. Is there something I am missing?

No. Only the original form that you sent in is stamped. You have received an approved copy of your Form 1. Being that it is not the original, it has no stamp.

Well fudge. I am pretty sure the USPS boned me by losing it. Is that going to be a problem?

You stated in your original post that you changed addresses and did not notify the ATF.  That's on you bud, not the USPS.

Should have the certified copy embossed seal though.

Right, I changed addresses after the paperwork was submitted and before it was approved, put in a forwarding of address and still never received it. I didn't realize it was possible to notify the ATF prior to approval.

Regardless, I could care less now. What is the recommended course of action?

Do I not need the original with the stamp as long as I have that?

The certified copy is fine. Sucks to not have the stamp, but you won't have any issues.
