Getting ready to send my lower to be engraved. Building a 10.2" .300. still waiting on suppressor paperwork to be approved. Mailed it later. check cashed 2 April..

The only reason to engrave it after is because the ATF sometimes ask to modify what is engraved.

Reason to do it before hand is if the engraving gets screwed up and you need to use a different receiver

It's not an SBR until it gets the short upper put on it, err go it's a title 1 firearm until then. Nothing wrong with engraving after approval, as long as you are patient enough to wait to assemble it into an SBR

Yeah, I've got time. The lower has never even been assembled. Bought it stripped and it has stayed that way. Now to send it off, wait for it's return so I can have some cerakote work done..

I'm on pretty much the same timeline as you are. I got my Form 1 back on 9/19, mailed it out on 1/19. I also have a Form 4 pending that was mailed 3/25 for my suppressor. In my case though I've got to wait for the Form 4 before I can do anything as the suppressor is integral to the upper. Seriously thinking about building a "normal" SBR upper so I can put this tax stamp to use NOW!
