| so, beyond a simple report with the local LOE, what else do I need to do to play CYA for a stolen NFA item? |
|
Quoted: SBR lower with an A! 'commando" clone upper. a pile of mags and ammo my son's laptop, wallet, class ring and a couple game consoles they trashed my den busted up my safe and left a BUNCH of other stuff. happened between 1 and 3 yesterday afternoon. |

based on a theft issue a member over on uzitalk had a while back, make sure EVERYONE around you (LEO-wise) has a copy of the serial numbers.
so that when they turn up (like in a crime, etc) then they know its stolen and whom the owner is said guy at UT found out a lot of his info wasnt distributed around the authorities like he thought/assumed it was. once he put the numbers out there, a couple of his cans and a pistol came back pretty quick. |

Yikes sorry to hear. I'm guessing no safe?
It was bagged ready for a range trip. They FUBARed my safe key locks but didn't get in. based on a theft issue a member over on uzitalk had a while back, make sure EVERYONE around you (LEO-wise) has a copy of the serial numbers.

| Here's hoping it gets found. I could be wrong, but I would expect a SBR to attract more attention than your typical AR15. Especially if they try to pawn it or sell it to a dealer. I'd rate your chances of having it returned to you as a result of someone trying to sell or show off a SBR without paperwork considerably higher than your typical stolen firearm. |
