Hey guys I just wanted to check on here what the average price for someone to transfer an in state supressor purchase, I'm buying a Thompson machine operative integral , and they are in north florida and I am in central florida, they don't do form 4's direct ( I already asked ). So I text my local ffl guy , and he sends me back a price of 200, I make a joke that about in this economy that is 2 pmags and ill trade him, he then sends me a price of 150. I don't respond and I wait a few days till the local gun show and I ask him if that is the correct price or if he was joking with me back. He said he was serious.  He then asks me what I was willing to pay, and I said last I checked industry average was $50 , and he says "there's no f'in way shops would do it for that " , and I spout off 3 local shops that quoted me that. His response was that he couldn't justify all that paperwork and paying his employees for that little money , now mind you i already own 9 NFA items and have 3 pending that are due in Feb. I know what exactly it takes to fill out forms 1,3 and 4 . I told him I would even help fill out the forms to " save his employee costs" and he said he still didn't want to do it.

We charge $50.  The reason it is that much compared to $15 for Title I stuff is not paperwork.  It is the time it will be occupying space in a safe and the time I am responsible for it if something should happen.

$50 at my local dealer. I had 4 in the last few months and they did the last one free to say sorry for forgetting the zip code on one which delayed it a few weeks.

If you already have three guys that will charge $50, why are you wasting your time talking to the guy that wants as much as a tax stamp out of you? $50 is what I pay.

Usually it's going to be $75 or $100 up this way.

There are a couple of well known dealers who enjoy sort of celebrity status who want $200.

You ever notice how people tend to heap praise and admiration on certain celebrity gun dealers for simply doing their job correctly?

"Bob is the best guy to go to for suppressors!  He ordered one for me and did the paperwork!  Sure he charged me $200 for the transfer, but you're going to pay extra for awesome service like that!  Isn't he dreamy?"

I pay $50.  There are plenty of SOT's out there that charge $100 or more.  I avoid doing business with them.

I would still do business with the guy who charges $50, even if I...... .......found one who would do it for $15, because I think $50 is a fair price.

They are the closest to my residence , about 2-3 miles away and they already do my ffl transfers in, was wanting to go with them for convenience.

Most important make sure you can trust the dealer....

For my last stamps I went with the $50.00 transfer dealer and hour away vs. the $100 dealer 5 mins away, and the dealer swapped out my BCG and lost my carry handle during the wait. I never made time to go and check in on it and kinda tried to keep it out of my mind to make the wait easier.

Next transfer will from the in-town dealer for me so I can stop in every couple weeks to baby sit my baby sitter.

I gotta say I don't understand why they won't allow you to do a simple Fm 4 from them to  you.  You're in the same state, unless I misread this on my phone.

THen you make a road trip and save all the time for an additional Fm 3 process.

$50+ depending on the item/it's size and weight and how much insurance I need.
