Nothing says you can't engrave your info on any gun you own. |

If I were building a SBR today, I'd build it as a pistol first, ensure it's running well, send it out for engraving within a month or two of submitting the F1, then install a stock when the stamp comes back approved. That way, you can build the lower, make sure it's all working correctly, ensure there are no gas issues with the upper, and even play with it a little while you're waiting for it to return. I did my first SBR where I sent the barrel out to be shortened after I had an approved F1, and the week turnaround seemed like fooooooorrrrrrrreeeeeeeeevvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr for it to return. |

Where can I get form 1, atf website? Application to make and register a firearm. http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5320-1.pdf Also, go ahead and get the receiver engraved now, and also, collect all parts you want for it now. Just have it as a pistol for the time being. When you get your Form 1 back, doing these things will save you a good bit of time. |
