If you own a C-3 weapon, do you have to do a change of address if you move within the same state?

Does it matter if the weapon is held in a trust or as an individual?

If so, if there a cost? How much?

You don't have to notify the ATF if you move within a state, although they recommend that you do.  A simple letter is OK, and it doesn't cost anything.

Some states (such as Virginia) have state registration, and they tend to keep closer tabs on where the items are.

Thanks Alex.

I'm curious how you knew the answer. I searched the laws and couldn't find it.

I just notified them of an address change within state just as a courtesy.  See no reason not too.
