If you own a C-3 weapon, do you have to do a change of address if you move within the same state? Does it matter if the weapon is held in a trust or as an individual? If so, if there a cost? How much? |

You don't have to notify the ATF if you move within a state, although they recommend that you do. A simple letter is OK, and it doesn't cost anything.
Some states (such as Virginia) have state registration, and they tend to keep closer tabs on where the items are. |

I move 1 county north 14yr ago, still here today.. been doing ATF 5320.20 for yearly travels, nobody ever said a thing in past... travel papers show up at address entered on the form here at the house.. Move instate and dont worry about it. |
