The WVCDL is trying to organize a smallish Machine Gun shoot the end of this summer, early fall. Obviously do not want to compete with Knob Creek. Who has experience RUNNING such a thing? What kind of average ammo per shooter can we expect? Probably going to have just one or two SOT's with their stuff there and we have another dealer that has expressed an interest in selling factory ammo. What are people's thoughts on this type of event? Do you all think it would be a good idea to let people bring their own NFA items and let them on the line, ala KC?
Thanks all! |

Is the event being held at a range or on private property (someone with enough land to safely shoot)?
I would have the SOT's bring whatever ammo they want to run through their guns, as even some factory ammo will cause problems in certain guns. Others manufacturers (cough WWB cough) are having QC issues. Plus if the gun is a belt-fed the SOT may want to pre-load belts before the event. Figure on several hundred rounds per shooter. |

You are planning on supplying the shooters ammo? IF so you will lose your ass. I have worked security at Knob Creek Range off and on during the MG shoots, and the shooters shoot ALOT of ammo, thousands of rounds each. |

The WVCDL wants no part of dealing with ammo sells. We are just trying to get a rough guess of how much to tell the store to order and bring with them. |
