| I have a demo letter in hand for a Colt M4 and a HK MP5K-PDW, and G36K but I am having trouble finding someone that sells post samples? One place can get the HK's but lead time is a year. Any ideas? And please don't say sturmgewehr or subguns. I've tried those. |
|
I wonder if their post sample prices are as high over the normal prices as their transferables are. So instead of $1200 for a colt M4, they'll be $2k at least?

Buyer beware. |

I emailed autoweapons a week ago and even attached a copy of my letter to prove I was the real thing and they never replied. Guess they don't need my business and judging by the few prices that I posted I bet they are outrageously priced. Don't feel bad. I emailed them a couple of times when I was looking for a MP5, never got a reply. I emailed them about a 60, I did get a reply, but they were $40k to start for a RIA E1. |

Buyer beware. Yeah. They do have nice stuff though. Lots of pretty photos and stuff. |

Seriously I thought they were quoting me prices on transferables for a second. Now I know why they don't post their prices. Without getting into too much, I will just say their M4's are $3900. Seriously $3900. Luckily I found a few places that treat their customers right. |

Yep, I am a 07 FFL/02 SOT and I have a department who might be interested in buying some. I posted a WTB add for a M4 and got no responses. Tried Clydes and they don't have any M4's right now. Any reason you don't do the M4 yourself? You are an 02..... |

Just collects it, but he has to pretend to sell stuff to keep the ATF happy. |

I thought he just wanted one; which is where I was confused(I understand that as an 02 you do not need a letter, hence my confusion) Anyways, my idiot post for the day I guess. |

Yep, I am an 02 and could build one, but I can't build a Colt. I just want a real deal Colt. As an 02 you need a letter to buy one just not to build one. I suck at reading I guess. I just saw the M4 part and assumed you wanted a full auto gun; not that it had to be a Colt. Apologies. |

Since you have a demo letter, why can't you just order up a new gun from the manufacturer? I don't know about Colt, but HK has been known to demand a copy of the letter before they sell direct to you. Then they contact the department, do the demo themselves, and steal the sale out from under you. |

Can a out of state manufacturer sell directly to a PD without transferring through an FFL SOT in the PD's state? |

Any FFL can sell direct to any law-enforcement agency unless state law prohibits it. http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/licensees-conduct-of-business.html#out-of-state-le-sales |

Not specifically a source but maybe another avenue of searching... how about looking for an FFL who may have taken Colts in on a trade from a department/Agency? I know most departments probably don't use F/A M4's but it may be worth a shot.
That's kind of shitty that Mfgs would essential steal a sale from a dealer! I can understand it from a sales POV but seems dumb from a dealer relations standpoint and immoral. |

I knew about Beretta (affiliated with Benelli, go figure they'd all have the same policy), didn't know about Colt. Thanks for the heads-up. |
