| I'm still waiting for my Form 1 to be approved. But, say I do call them and they tell me it's approved, do I have to wait until I have the approved Form 1 in hand before assembling my SBR? |

Had to go back to page 3, but this is from the "Hypothetical Question" thread.
Quoted:
Straight from the "Instructions" sheet: 3. Approval of Application. Upon approval of an application, the NFA Branch will affix the NFA tax stamp (if any) to the application, cancel it, and return the approved copy to the maker. The approval of the application effectuates registration of the firearm to the maker; however, the firearm must not be made until the application has been approved. Seems pretty straightforward. Approval = registration, and the firearm can be made once the application has been approved. |

This is true, but you have to remember that you do not have any proof that this is a registered SBR until you receive the form back. So, in the event that you need to prove the stamp was approved, you would not be able to meet that requirement. It's probably best to wait another week or two until you have the stamp in hand. |

I have NFA's number in my cell phone. If I need to prove that it's registered, a quick phone call should do the trick. By the way, this is just hypothetical since I'm not getting my lower engraved or the upper ordered until my form is approved. So by the time I do those things, the form will already be in hand. |
