Does the $200 tax stamp cover the weapon or the individual modifications? Meaning, if I want a SBR with a suppressor do I have to pay for 2 stamps or just one? Thanks.

for an SBR and a silencer it would be two separate forms and two separate $200 checks, $400 total

the suppressor IS the NFA item, so while you pay $200 for the stamp, you can use that suppressor on any number of host weapons...

No, not really.  I use my centerfire suppressor on 3 rifles at the moment and will add another in the future with potential to be only a $75ish mount from supressing a new rifle.  My .22 Suppressor is being used on two hosts with a third in the works.  My SBR now has a new upper.

It's not as bad as you first think.

Wait until the disease kicks in and you have 10+ NFA items.

That is over $2000 just in tax stamps.

I hate the government.

the tax is applied to each device.

a suppressor is an NFA device, as is an SBR.

before you get to that point you should look into starting a small firearms related business and getting an FFL/SOT.   makea  few bucks and dont pay $200 per item.

I was looking at a SBR 10/22 on Gunbroker with an internal (integral?) suppressor. I've been considering doing a build similar to that. I just didn't know how it would work to buy a package deal that way. Looks like a ton of fun though.

Tony_k...I laugh every time I come across this pic.  I'm only on my 1st one, and hope to follow with more.  But that collection you have, I will never be able to compete with.

Glad you laugh when you see it. My wife sure doesn't.

But FWIW, I've been buying these things, one or two a year, for decades .... if ya start early enough, and ya live long enough, eventually you have a stamp collection.

I never set out to own this many, nor did I expect to do so. It just sorta ... happened.
