| In Box 1: Full Name of the 5320.20 form I assume I put the name of my trust if that is how it is on the Form 1? Also will "recrational use at shooting range across state line" suffice for reason for transportation? Thanks in advance, this is my first 5320.20. |

Yes that is correct you put the trust's name as it appears on your form 1 (or form 4). And when you sign the bottom sign it "John Smith, trustee." Yes that will suffice for the reason. One thing to do if you travel to this range a lot is to get it approved for a longer period of time (they will approve it for upto one year) so if you were going to go for the first time on April 1 2010, I would use the dates 4/1/2010-3/31/2011 and then put the reason as "Periodic trips to gun range for recreational shooting." That way you only have to do this once a year. |

For example, I live right on the MO/KS border and frequently cross the State Line in order to attend shooting matches & classes at various ranges in Kansas. So, can I simply enter "Kansas" as the destination? |

I am moving this Thurs for a job so I am doing this form too. I have heard some people fax them, anyone be able to fax theirs recently? Calling the ATF Monday to go over this but I am hearing different answers on faxing.
I just faxed my 5320 form about a week ago. We will see what happens. If you are moving to another state that sounds like a permanent change though. I thought the 5320 forms were for temoporary passage to another state with the intent to return to the original state when done. I am going to a MG shoot in VT in July so I did the 5320 form but if your moving for a job would you still do a 5320? Rob |

My worries was if I was to be at a different area and someone not in the know sees the paper work and it causing problems. Maybe I'm just being over cautious though? |

There is a check-box on the form asking if the item(s) will be returned to original location. For a permanent move, you would check no, and then state "permanent move to (insert state)" on the reason line. |

You need a specific destination, 123 overshoe st, Topeka Kansas, for example. With an approved .20, you can travel to anywhere in KS as long as the items are legal in the town/county. No issues with being at locations other than the specified destination. Only thing to be aware of - if someone files a FOIA on your serial number, they *may* get copies of the .20s with your destinations. If this is a family residence, you may not want to show it. I typically use the address of a shooting range in the area. Just my 2c and paranoia on this one :-) |

I did put the address of a shooting range right across the state line as opposed to my friends personal range/home |
