i saw on another board that there is a re-welded AR-10 receiver for sale that is transferable, what does that mean, is it an SBR or a machine gun?

Its an MG, and I've got an appointment with them to take a look at it, they are 10 miles up the road from me. Hopefully by the end of the week, it will be mine.

wow, i didn't know they made 308 ARs in full auto and it seems like a real good price for an MG

Finding parts for early AR-10's could be a real problem.

They are not compatible with the new ones.

The dealer I bought my first (and second) M-16 from was an AR-10 collector and he was always looking for parts/spares.

He also offered me an Portugease (sp) AR-10 he had for $9K - took the factory Colt M16-A1 - this was in 2000.

The AR-10 would  have been neat, but with all of the conversions that have come out since I got the M-16, the AR-10 would have been a dead-end - if a part broke, I could have very well been SOL.

The post right before my last one and the link in the original.

It's a stripped lower - reweld.

Any parts sources for these? (SARCO/Numrich)

I was talking with Kurt from the guys that have it, he says he has a couple of parts kit for it, and knows of a spare parts kit from another AR10. I figure it is worth a look.
