Are there any specific requirements on the picture for my form 1?  It says a 2x2 frontal view... Will a digital camera picture from my shoulders up be ok, or do I have to go have a passport type photo taken?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

IF you can do it right and from the shoulders yourself it is ok, but IMHO I play the safe route and do the passport photo.

I paid $20.00 for an official photo the first stamp, took my own against a white wall for the others.

If you can print a 2x2 armpit up photo, save yourself the money.

I took mine on my cell phone, saved it to a Micro SD card, and then went to Walgreens.  Got 2 Passport sized pics and a glue stick to glue them on the form 1's for ~$9.50

Hope this helps.

I did not do this but other people posted before that they took the pictures them self and then printed them right on the form when they printed off the form. Again I did not do this but maybe somebody can explain it better.

Print the Form 1 or 4 yourself, but cover the photo area with a post it note.  That way the text about the photo is printed on the post it note, leaving the photo area clear.

Then print your photo right on to the Form.  I line up the photo in a MS Word document and keep the file as a template.

or... just import the photo into ms word or that editable pdf version of the form, and print it all at once.  thats what i did.  took the photo from my digital camera, printed it at work.  total cost: 0$

The wording on the form is "attach photo" so I did that.  You guys that printed the photo on the form got them back approved?

Cool beans... I'll try that next time.  Better than gluing the photo on!

I'm beginning to think the year wait is not worth a stamp anymore though.  OK, 143 days, but it feels like a year!

My FFL's printer turned out to be B&W only when we did a pair of Form 4s this summer.  It'll be interesting to see if they're approved or sent back for better photos.

I paid $15 for two passport photos at The UPS Store yesterday. Why do I feel as if I was raped?

It depends on what the person that took the picture looks like!

I take my camera and hold it at arms length and snap a picture, then I go to wal-fart and stick the SD card in the printer and print prints, and then spray fglue them to the form.

I used ot trim them, buit the last couple I dind't even do that, I just stuck the 3x5 on there and moved it all the way up and over so it wouldn't cover the nex line filled out below it.  It was still approved....

My local Walgreens only charges $7 for 2 passport photos.  That is were I always go.

I sometimes think that they think I am a terrorist because I am in there every couple of months getting new passport pics taken.  I try to tell them that I need them for a "Work Form".

I just get this.
