WTF is up with these guys?  I've been trying to simply get their shipping address for the last 2 days so I can send them my rifle for engraving and keep getting the run-around every single time.  It's almost like their hiding something.

Is there another engraving company out there who isn't so damn secretive?  I'm half temped to just dreamel my name, city and state myself because this simple engraving deal is becoming a major PIMA.

Can a local jewelry store do it? At least that way you can walk in and out with the lower and not have to bother with shipping???

Yeah I took it to 2 local engravers who do trophies and plaques and they told me their engraving is nowhere near .003".  They meerly scratch the surface.

I believe that they'll include the shipping address with the email that they send you quoting you the price.  You might wish to email them again if you haven't received a reply within a couple of days.

I've used them numerous times without incident and know several others that have used them as well.

I just used them about a month ago. Did a great job on my NFA engraving. I also had them do some custom engraving on the right magwell. This was just ok. Was not as good as I would have liked but do not know if this was due to the picture I sent them so I'm not really holding it against them. I had it back in less then then 3 weeks. Part of that time was because UPS was late and it delayed the delivery date but that was UPS fault. I would use them again. I'll post the address I used if I find it. UPS had an issue with it because their computer does not like it but it was shipped and delivered to them with out issue.

Did you request a price quote for the engraving work? They only provide their shipping info on the response.

Ths is true. They provide the address with a price for what you want. They were very good about responding to my emails. Almost always with in 2 days and we emailed back and forth several times. However the address I have for them on my invoice is––––-wait for it––––

Orion Arms
2090 64TH Street
Lino Lakes, MN 55110

As I said before.....the UPS computer did not like the zip and city. Kept saying it was bad info. I do not recall if this was the same city/zip I used or not. There was something on their web page ref this issue but do not recall what it was. Again was very please with my NFA engraving and it took half the tme people were telling it would take. I was told 6 weeks and it took about 2 or 3.

They just did two receivers for me.  Their turnaround time was about 1/2 what they quoted too.  I will use them again in the future.

Well, it's just my name, city and state on a Rem 1100 SBS.  They just must be busy right now or I caught them on a bad day.  The link above is in Dallas which is good, I can drop it off in-person there, so I might be going that route instead.  Thanks.

I just e-mailed Orion yesterday for a quote on SBR engraving and they e-mailed me back this morning.

Just for a ballpark for people who might be wondering, I e-mailed Orion, Ident Markings, and Charles Smyder (nflgun.com, someone on another thread here recommended him, he's a member here) for prices on engraving an AR lower SBR.

This is for two lines of text (First name, middle initial, last name, and City, State) over the FCG pins.

Ident Markings was highest at $45 + $9 shipping = $54.00

Orion was next at $35 + $14 = $49.00

Chuck was least expensive at $25 + $12 = $37.00 (he was $10 more to do the right side of the magwell. Must have a jig already set up for above the FCG pins.

Make sure you get your own quotes as YMMV depending on what you want done, but this was just an idea of what these guys run. All of them were very friendly and e-mailed me back within a day.

Wow, Orion just quoted me $55 +$17 shipping for the same thing and Ident wanted $45 + $9.  I think I'm going with Ident because they are within 4 hours of my house.

BTW Orion did get back with me today, they are just running a little slow.

I would imagine they are probably more because I am using an AR lower, which is a very common SBR. They probably have a jig or something already set up to do these. A different firearm is going to require a different setup, and you are probably be charged for setup. You said you were getting an 1100 SBS done, right? Shipping on that's probably different, as well as you are a zone further away from Orion in MN than I am. This would also account for the shipping charge difference..
