I did a search and came away with a ? on engraving for a SBR.
Can the word TRUST only be used after one's name or do you have to use LRT ? |

Thanks.
I don't want to step on ATF toes and have something illegal. From my understanding, correct me if I am wrong, one can use his initial of his first name ? I was going to do mine with first initial, last name and the word TRUST after that. Sending the receiver out tomorrow so I would appreciate replies. |

My friend just has his last name and the trust, then under that his location. So for example it would be: Eagle Trust Pittsburg, Penn |

Just to make it clear, I did have the entirity of my pro and surnames engraved. I just redacted them for the sake of privacy. ATF is not cool with abbreviating trust names. Think of it like this: Homer J. Simpson Trust Springfield, VT |

You may be able to get by with just abbreviating your first name, but I don't think you're supposed to. They really don't like anything being abbreviated. That is why when I had my trust made I had it titled "Lastname Living Trust"; that way I only have to engrave "Lastname Trust" and location. |

I called today 8-36-09(second day-finally spoke to a live person) the ATF office in WV and spoke to an examiner and asked if it was permissible to use the first initial of your first name and his statement was "it has to be your full first name as well as full last name when using form 1/trust."
He stated that "one can put in writing and ask for a Variance however at this time they ar not granting Variances." Eagle |
