I am moving and in if I drive, I would have to go through two states where suppressors are illegal. Can I mail the suppressors to myself via UPS/FedEx etc... or do I have to fly with them? I would rather not fly with them for cost and time reasons but I will do what I have to do to assure that I am legal.
Thank you in advace for your time and help. Robert |

The FOPA of 1986 allows you to drive through states (as said with min stops) as long as the weapon is legal in your destination state. Some states have tried to arrest people. I'm not sure what kind of trouble they had to go through after that. I think the NRA helped one person with legal fee's. If you have the correct paperwork for your move, you should be able to mail them to your self. You also can fly with NFA weapons with proper paperwork.
Personally if I was just going to drive through a state and it would only be a few hours, I would gas up before I got to it and just drive the speed limit and not stop. It is after all legal to do so. |
