Hey Everyone,
I submitted my paperwork for my first SBR back in Feb. At the time, I was set on building a 5.56 upper to use. I'm now thinking about going 6.8. It's my understanding that once my paperwork is approved, all I would have to to regarding the ATF is submit a letter letting them know of the change from 5.56 to 6.8. Also, I know that 5.56 / 6.8 lowers are essentially the same. Would it be an issue to use the same lower? Would I need to get the markings changed? Thanks, Wicked |

you could let them know of the permanent change or you could just build/buy the 5.56 upper with the barrel length stated on the form 1 to have a cheaper alternative to ammo for plinking then you would have 2 sbr's without the wait,or tax same lower will work for either.caliber markings do not need to be changed.only info needed is manufacturer(you) and city and state of said manufacturer. unless you put something in box 4h good luck on a speedy transfer just noticed your country, are you in the states?if not disregard all of the above. |
