I think I have this understood but I'd like confirmation. I'd like to SBR an AR15. I currently own a regular midlength rifle, already in my possession. I would like to purchase an AR pistol and be able to use it while I wait for the paperwork, and once I'm legal, throw a buttstock on it. Is this OK seeing as how I've already got another AR in the house? I'm not dumb enough to actually put rifle parts on the pistol until it's legal, but is there any grey area since I physically possess said parts? Lastly, any New Hampshire natives here who've played the NFA game and wouldn't mind helping a noob? |
| As long as you have the pistol lower you should be fine. Like you said, just don't assemble it. Although there will be a point in time where one of your lowers is off being engraved with name, state, and city. If you are really worried you could just keep the upper at a friends house while you wait. |
