I just received my stamp and my new LMT Defender 2000 10.5 rifle.

Here are my questions.

Because it is registered as a 10.5, can I put an LMT 14.5 M4 upper on it and still be legal?

Can I put any barrel, longer than 10.5 on it and remain legal?

Thanks

As long as you have the original 10.5" upper around to put it back into that configuration, you can temporarily have it in any length configuration you wish.

If you have decided that you would rather have a 14.5 now, just send them a letter (two copies) asking they ammend the registery to show the new length and they will return a 'received' copy to you
.

.

eventually.
