It would be more practical if it were mounted to the left side of the barrel similar to the UK-issue H&K side opening double action AG-C 40mm grenade launcher, mounted on a Diemaco C8 carbine, but instead keep the shotgun's barrel parallel with the carbine's barrel.  Placing the barrels on the same plane would eliminate your aiming problem with blasting locks.  This setup would allow you to access both weapons at the same time as well.   You place your left hand on the foreward grip of the shotgun and pull the trigger with the left hand while keeping your right hand on the rear grip maintaining access to the carbine's  trigger at all times.

Just use duct tape, It might even look better - maby you could smooth out the lines with the tape!!  The idea sounds great, but when you actually see it....

You might be able to get the parts directly from Remington.

Start with this link.......

Another option would be to check with any of the groups that sell parts for the Knights Masterkey.

I ay be wrong, but isnt that illegal? Im not sure you can do that, even with a class 3.

why would it be illeagal.  you probably need to get it sbs-ed.  ar would be included in OAL like a folding stock i would assume.  its attatched so it shouldnt be a problem.

=SBS when attached a <18" shotgun to a stock (AR15)

I think they are all sold as SBS's anyways.

They work very poorly for their intended purpose of breaching. The shotgun is very hard to line up on locks and hinges due to it being mounted so far below the sight plane of the M4.

The "Masterkey" is pretty badass...

...for posers.

For folks who know of the masterkey's impracticality, it's a huge waste of money and weight.

Yep, but Billy used an 18" 870 on a 20" M16....so I guess he must have been a bad mofo as that combo must have weighed a billion pounds.

How would it eject mounted on the left side? It would cover the ejection port.

It makes the weapon front heavy and you are better served with a separate shotgun but it is quite legal. and depending on the length of the shotgun NFA paperwork is sometimes required.

Actually on future weapons awhile back there is a company making mini HEI rounds for the 12ga shotgun so its got a purpose, now whether thats being attached to the M4 platform or standalone its unknown. Personally I'd rather have 2 useful guns attached like the above is that way if you ran out of ammo for the .223 and had 00 buckshot/slugs left your not out of the game.  Its not like you could shoot your way out of a fight with HEI grenades not point blank you'd be a fool.

Would this be NFA then?

Only NFA is the shotgun barrel is less than 18". The Predator shotgun is not NFA.
