| Well I used a laser engraver that I have access to do my engraving. It is very clean and looks amazing. If I run my finger across their is a noticeable engraving and all seems well. How the heck do I know how deep .003" is? I have access to every measuring tool in the book but what could be used to measure that? Should I worry about it? It is no where near as deep as the other engravings on the lower receiver but they are deeper than .003". How deep are those normally? Thanks for the answers in advance. |
| Thanks for the reply. I used that and if you have ever seen .003" on one of those it is almost unoticable that it is even out to the naked eye. If you ran your finger over it at .003" you can barely feel it. Thanks again for the help, I just don't want ATF to have some special tool that I don't know about and say it isn't deep enough. |
YES just as deep as the other markings .. a little deeper since my lower is a Superior Arms and their markings are not all to the exact uniform depth |
| The best way to check the depth would be with a optical micrometer. Not ant thing that probes for depth, now where to find one? I work in aviation and use one maybe ten times a year. So maybe the local airport just don’t drag your gun to the airport until you ask. |
