Okay, let me see if I have this straight. If I create a trust, all I fill out is the front of the Form 1 and send in the $200, 2 copies of the Form 1, 1 citizenship form and a copy of the trust. No fingerprints, photos, CLEO sign off, and don't fill in the back page of the Form 1?

Why do a trust in Tennessee?  Your CLEO is required to sign by law:

39-17-1361. Execution of documents by sheriff or chief of police. —

The sheriff or chief of police of the city of residence of a person purchasing any firearm, defined by the National Firearms Act, 26 U.S.C. § 5845 et seq., shall execute within fifteen (15) business days of any request all documents required to be submitted by the purchaser if the purchaser is not prohibited from possessing firearms pursuant to § 39-17-1316.

[Acts 2003, ch. 275, § 1.]

Unfortunately, some CLEOs still refuse to sign off.  Maybe someone will file a lawsuit, but I have not heard of one yet.

I am pretty sure that my CLEO would sign off, but it just seems that the trust would be quicker. No need to get prints, photos, and then wait for the CLEO to sign. And from what i have read online there are no drawbacks to a trust and it seems the ATF approves them faster.
