I've done searches and it appears that if I buy a registered SBR (Form 4) instead of converting my existing one (Form 1) then I do not need my name and address engraved on it correct? Also, anyoe recommend a specific brand that sells SBR lowers (just lowers)? Thanks. |

As mentioned above, CA has strict limitiations on NFA stuff. The only workable NFA solutions in CA are AOWs (no pen guns) and C&R SBS/SBR. Anything else and you need a virtually-impossible CA DOJ permit for it. AOWs and C&R SBS/SBRs are exempt from needing the DOJ permit. They just need to be possessed legally per the NFA. AW rules still apply, so you need to make sure that your toy does not violate the AW rules. So, no AOW SP89 or AOW AR15 pistol with detachable magazine unless it was already a CA-registered AW. You could do a fixed-mag build and then AOW it if you really had to have that forward grip.
