Anyone run into a "Not going to happen" situation when trying to get their CLEO Sig?  I have run into a stone wall on mine.

Dallas area?

Nah, our sheriff happily signs everything.  Look into a trust or LLC.

That brings up an interesting point.  All my troubles have been while living in Collin County.  I recently moved to Garland (Dallas County) and haven't tried here yet.  The Dallas County Sherrif is pretty easy, then?  My quest to build a SBR may be back on track!

Oh no I was guessing you are in Dallas...best I know nobody signs there.  Travis County is where I'm at.

I'm very fortunate that mine will sign on the spot while you wait.

If I were you, I'd make one more appointment to meet with your CLEO. I'd explain that by requesting his signature, he will be aware of what NFA items you possess in his jurisdiction. Let him know that you can still legally form a corporation or trust to obtain the NFA items without his consent, and that you can also share your items with others that are listed on your paperwork, instead of you being the only one he has to "worry" about.

The fine folks in the Texas Hometown Forum will know the drill for Dallas County.

I think that would be a good idea of going and actually meeting with your CLEO and basically explaining the situation to him and showing him that it will in no way hold him liable for signing.  Most CLEOS that dont sign just plain are misinformed about NFA laws.

Go meet with him and respectfully explain the laws and regulations to him and also dont forget to tell him that the ATF will conduct a full background check on you to boot.

if all else fails, go the corporate route.
