Im not one to talk a lot of shit without knowing I'm right, so i figured I'd come here to confirm... A kid (23 yrs old) I vaguely know through friends was running his mouth all night last night about his new gun shop. He claims to be a licensed dealer for MGs and such things. I quietly called bullshit almost immediately to my friends, but they insist that this guy is telling the truth (some have apparently shot full auto with him, however, none of them know anything about firearms). Anyway, he continues to tell stories about how he had to fly out to Missouri, Montana, or some state for ATF classes and had to pay a 13,000 fee for the license... In the meantime, he "recently bought a SAW for 31k and has an anti-tank rifle on the way" (20mm apparently). Meanwhile, he also claims to have an import license, with which he'll be able to make 450k a year . Should my bullshit alarm be going off like crazy like it is? No mention of a license to sell DDs at all... |
An FFL (license) cost $200.00 for three years. If you want to sell Title II weapons (machine guns, silencers, AOW's, DD’s and sbr's/sbs's) you will need to pay an additional $500.00 tax every year for the privilege. To get an import license, it's $150.00 for 3 years. You can import machine guns to sell, but you can only sell to other class 3 dealers, or police departments and/or government agencies. There are no “ATF classes” in Missouri, Montana and no other fees needed. He’s full of shit. |
Let me interpret that for you: "I was thinking about beginning to look into seeing whats neccesarry to start a gun store" |
