OK, I've finally bitten the bullet.  I've completed 3 form 1's and 1 form 4(Yeah I know, 6 form 1's and 2 form 4's).  I have my L.E. signatures, my 8 fingerprint cards, and 4 Certificates of Compliance.  I drop off my Form 4's tomorrow at my dealer for my Surefire suppressor.  I know somewhere this has been answered but when I send my Form 1's, can I use one check for $600.00, or do I put a seperate $200.00 check with each set of forms?  Is it OK to staple the Form 1's, Cert of Comp, and fingerprint cards together, or just use a paperclip?  I got word tonite that my passport is on its way back to me after only 2 weeks, I hope the BATFE is flowing as smoothly.

I have used 1 check for multiple f4's. I would think the same applies to f1's.

I paper clip, the BATFE can staple if they so wish.

I would send separate checks.

Right now, BATFE is severely understaffed, and the normal alphabetical form assignment is no longer being followed. Instead, the incoming applications are being divvied up between the remaining examiners to level out the workload.

So while it is not normal procedure, it is entirely possible that your three Form 1s will be split up between three different examiners. That creates a potential that the check will be deposited for one Form 1 without the amount being noticed, and the other two Form 1's could be bounced for no payment.

Once they are back to full staff, there will again be no problem with sending one check for three applications.

And paperclip each check to each application.

I used to send in everything on one envelope.....but then one time when I had a couple transfers getting sent in at once, they lost some pictures and a cert of compliance. faxed the cert of compliance and one of my form 4s has my picture photo copied onto it......

I now group each indiviual set of paperwork in its own brown envelope with its own M.O., then those get placed in a priority mail envelope. have not had any issues since I have been doing that. doing it this way always lets me write a check list on the outside of the brown envelope as I place each item in the envelope so I know everything is included.
