Getting ready to send in my first form 4--who do I make payment to again?

You've got an old form. The new ones are Department of Justic- ATF was moved to DOJ from Treasury a few years back.

my form 4 a couple months ago, payable to BATFE, stamp in hand 3 weeks later
my form 1 a couple weeks ago, payable to BATFE (and its been cashed), so guess we'll see

You've got an old form. The new ones are Department of Justic- ATF was moved to DOJ from Treasury a few years back.

The form im looking at is dated (07/31/2007) Form 1

I believe that there are several different versions of this form floating around. The Form 1 I received from ATF several months ago shows to make check payable to "Department of the Justice". In the top left corner it has "OMB No. 1140-0011 (07/31/2007)" and in the bottom right corner it shows "ATF Form 1 (5320.1) Revised July 2004". Mine also has the WV address as the place to mail to. I would not be too concerened about who the check is made out to. They will still cash it.
