I am using Willmaker to start my NFA trust but have a question about the naming of said trust. All of the trusts I have seen have been titled as the full name of the creator. Can I name my trust the... (Insert Last Name Here) NFA living revocable trust? I will only be using it for my NFA stuff so nothign else will be in it but NFA items. Any legal problems with this? |

That is exactly what I did. In willmaker when you are done you can export the trust to an rtf doc. When you export it change the name of your trust to whatever you want. Just be sure that you change it as many times as it appears in the trust. Also when doing a certification of trust, do the same thing. Export it and change the names in the document to the exact same as in your trust, every time it appears. The paperwork is the legal document once you have it notarized. For example I made my Trust "ABC NFA Revocable Living Trust", where ABC are my initials. I then engraved my lower "ABC NFA Trust, City, State". |
| I made mine the "J.P. Lastname RLT" in the manner described above. Its easiest to use the find/change function in Word/Wordpad to change the name everywhere it appears. If I remember correctly, the name of the trust appears once in the declaration, and multiple times in the certification of trust. Also, make sure the page breaks are in the correct places. When I changed the name on mine it separated a subsection onto two pages, I corrected it by adding a line break in. |
