I have a couple questions on obtaining SBR's. I have several suppressors so i used to the transfer process but my questions are this. if I purchase a lower from a company that makes 9.5 inch lowers. Do i follow a form 1 or does it get transfered to my local and do a form 4 like a suppressor. Thanks, Blake

Never heard of a 9.5 inch lower, what is that?

If someone else made the SBR, then you will transfer on a Form 4.

There are 9.5 inch uppers? barrels? I know of 7.5 pistol barrels and 10.5 - 11.5 SBRs.

A complete SBR can be built by a licensed manufacturer (just like other C3 items) and transferred to you through a local C3 dealer on a Form 4.

I doubt you can buy only a stripped lower pre-registered as an SBR. You can make your own SBR on a Form 1 from an existing long barrel rifle or stripped lower; this can be quicker and cheaper, and cuts out the C3 manufacturer and dealer, but requires you to engrave the lower.

POF is the only manufacturer of standard 9.5" uppers that I know of, and its a piston upper. 10.5" and 7.5" are more common DI uppers.
