Sent in an F4 for a gun I'm selling to an out-of-state resident, so it's from my LLC to a dealer.  They got the check on 8/30. Transfer was approved on 9/8. That's 5 business days.

I just had a F4/individual transfer clear in less than 2 weeks!

NFA Branch is kicking some serious butt!!!

How long are F1s taking?  I sent one in on August 28th and they've yet to even cash the check

Form 1's go to WV then to Chicago, and then BACK to WV.

Form 4's go to Chicago, then to WV and that's it.  The extra step is your delay.

If you sent it to the old address in DC, expect added delay. The NFA Branch moved to Martinsburg, WV last year.  Sometime this winter/spring, word was passed around to send the Form 1's to WV.  Don't sweat it though, NFA Branch will get your forms, it will just be a while longer.

My form 1 took 66 days, mailbox to mailbox. That was a couple of months ago.  I mailed a form 4 on monday.  Two weeks would be fantastic!
