If you set up your LLC in TX, what were the upfront filing fees involved and what are the yearly costs in keeping it current?

$300 to form it.  Don't know about ongoing costs after that.  Are you starting a real business, or just looking for a way to avoid CLEO signoffs?  If it's the latter, have you considered a living trust?

The latter.  At this point I'm kicking around the idea of forming an LLC in order to pick up a few full auto items along with a close relative.  My girlfriend is an attorney, but doesn't really practice this type of law.  So she wasn't sure of the fees involved.

I didn't know a living trust was an option.  Does that tend to work as well when more than one person is involved?

My wife and I have a shared / marital trust.  You might want to ask your girlfriend about trusts with relatives other than your spouse.
