Looking to expand my deer season, I really like the Knight Ultra Light, 209 primer. Anyone have one of these and deer hunt with it? I've got an extra Trijicon Accupoint 1-4X I thought would work well. ML season in my area of MI is almost 3 weeks long, followed by a late antlerless.
I haven't had anything to do with muzzloaders since the early 90's when I had a TC Scout .50. Thinking it would be fun to still hunt the logging roads on snow shoes. I've got dense and open woods, and ag. fields. Thoughts anyone? ETA: Looks like Knight Muzzleloaders isn't the same company it was many years ago. Looks like I'll try to get a Remington 700 Ultimate ML. |

Looks like I'll try to get a Remington 700 Ultimate ML. There are plenty of used Knight muzzleloaders from the "old" company out there at very reasonable prices. Also, I haven't heard bad things about new Knight rifles. However, if you want a "plug and play" inline that would be easy on the wallet, I keep hearing good things about CVA muzzleloaders. |
| I ended up getting a Remington 700 Ultimate ML in stainless with the Bell and Carlson stock. EGW HD alloy scope base should be here today, my Trijicon 1-4 Accupoint with German #4 reticule in alloy Badger Ordnance rings will be going on the rifle. Not traditional by any stretch, but I love to hunt, and the more time spent in the woods the better. |
