So, I've slowly been looking around gathering some things for my first BP rifle that I will be buying in a month or so (probably a 1861 Springfield) I lucked out last week at the gun show and picked up a pound of FFG goex powder, and now I'm down to musket caps.
I've heard the RWS musket caps work the best, but who has them for the best prices? I think they have haz-mat shipping correct? I know a gun shop about 3hrs away that should have them, wondering if it would be worth my while to drive and get them or just order them up...... |

I saw those after doing a bit of browsing. I did find these also, which are sold by the thousand, so I may end up with those, as I'll just order up a few thousand, pay the Haz-Mat, and be done with it. |

Back Creek Gun Shop is west of Winchester off 522. I don't know where in WVa you are but they are the largest Black Powder dealer I know of. All your supplies can be had there.
Google Back Creek Gun Shop for more information. Jackie is good people, he supplies the N-SSA with powder, caps and other supplies. |

That's about a 3hr trip for me over twisty mountains, but I plan to make a trip over there in the spring, along with a trip to Gettysburg. |

If you coincide your trip in May with the National Skirmish at Ft. Shenandoah there will be numerous "sutlers" (aka vendors) there that sell any black powder supplies you may ever need for the 61 Springfield.
Check the web site for the date but it is normally the 3rd full weekend in May. Crowded but plenty of selection. |
