can Pyrodex  "P"  powder be used in a (44 cal) ball & cap revlover, or do you have to use the 777 powder? Thanks

Yes you can use "P" powder in the revolver. "P" stand for pistol grade powder. Finer grain than "RS".

I would rather use FFFg black powder. But that's me.

I would rather use the real black powder also. But were I live no one sells it & to buy it on line, cost a lot to get it shipped.

There is no substitute for real black powder.  Get the real thing.

They are your closest Goex distributor.  If they aren't close enough to suit you, just call 'em up and ask if they have any retailers in your area.

I order from Powder Inc.. His prices include shipping and haz-mat fees so you don't add anything. He does have a 5# minimum order size, but his prices are pretty good. The more you order the cheaper the powder is per pound, so if you have some friends who shoot muzzleloaders you should go in together on 25#.
A 5# order has the powder priced at $21.35 per pound. A 10# order size has it at $16.90 per pound and a 25# or 50# order size has the powder at $13.60 per pound.

I use Powder Inc. as well.

Another plus, they will let you mix and match granulations in a lot.
