OK... So Im a dummy...

My father inlaw has an Aldo Uberti 1860 Army .44 that was in storage (not the good kind) for the last 10 - 15 years. Well, after I showed him my new purchase (CZ 75 Compact) he goes digging and pulls out the old pistol. Unfortantly the internals were basically fried from sitting and rusting. So he asks me to take it apart, clean it up, find whatever parts and fix it.
So I identified the problems, hand spring was shot and the trigger and bolt spring was disintegrated. I just recieved the parts from Numrich tonight and CANNOT get this thing back together right!
I am not a smith, but I do have decent mechanical abilities, but for some reason I am too stupid to figure out what wont go together right.

The problem lies in the trigger, it wants to remain in the fired position and wont move forward when the hammer is pulled back.

If anyone can help please let me know!

There is a book that is stocked in most Barns and Noble's in the Sporting goods area.

IIRC its called Gunsmithing pistols of the Cowboy era.

I think it has the info you need.  Including pictures of each part of the disassembly/assembly.  Its a great ref book.  Im away from home and cant give you an exact quote on the title, Sorry

Ok... got it figured out. After playing with it some more I realized that the trigger spring wasnt putting enough pressure in the correct area (duh). Thanks for the help Psy!

Unfortantly yes.... I am currently trying to save a Blackpowder .410 shotgun and a Marlin .22mag.
