So I went to an auction today with over 159 guns. Everything I was interested in went for way more than I was willing to spend s I started eyeballing oddball guns. I was able to snag this Mauser 7mm but I can't seem to find any information on it about where or when it was made. It looks like the front end of the stock was chopped though which I'm not too worried about. Only markings I've found so far are X672 and a couple other marks that I've pictured below.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Looks like a Spanish M1916 Short Rifle.
Basically an 1893 Mauser, i.e., a nice rifle.
Returning it to military configuration will probably cost more than it's worth.

Thanks for the info, there is almost no chance of me going through the hassle of returning it to stock configuration, I'll most like sight it in and just have fun shooting it from time to time. I tried looking for a scope mount but I can't make heads or tails if one will work on this rifle as the only one I found looks like it mounts to the top of the rear sight and this gun has an aftermarket rear sight on it.

Any useful scope mount is going to require drilling and tapping the receiver, plus grinding off the charger bridge. Not worth the expense and effort, IMO.
If you want to make it a bit more useable, almost any stock for a small ring Mauser should fit.
You could also do a .45ACP conversion.
