As the title says, I have an 1898 in the 205xxx range that doesn't reliably eject.

Feeding and extraction aren't an issue but the ejection isn't consistent.  Even when working the bolt fairly virgoroisly the best I will usually get is for the brass to rotate 180 degrees and end up with the head toward the chamber and the mouth toward the bolt face.  Maybe one in ten will actually clear the action to allow the bolt to be cycled without having to pick the spent brass from the action.

Keep in mind that I'm no Krag expert...

The ejector looks to be in working order, it pivots freely and looks to cam up properly when the bolt is retracted.  When the bolt is removed the ejector pivots freely, is this correct?

This is by no means a deal breaker for this rifle as I only shoot it once or twice a year, it'd be nice to be able to properly employ the buttery smooth action when I shoot it.

Any suggestions or pointers on what might be wrong?
