I was attempting to knock the front sight pin out of my mosin front sight hood today when the post snapped in half. The post is still stuck in the hood and won't budge. What can I do to get it out?

Several ways to attack this problem but a picture of your current situation would help greatly.

It likely involves a rotozip or an angle grinder but yes... Pics will help us diagnose the problem and confirm that a cutting implement is required.  Maybe you can knock it off with a big hammer.

Flip it over and drill out the weld from the bottom. They just barely weld it on there then grind it flat. Or take your punch and bet it out from the top. Have done it both ways. Then I weld a nail back in and file it to where I want it to impact.
