In addition to looks, some people choose Walnut over Beech because they're hoping to get a WW2-dated rifle (even though Switzerland was only marginally involved). Walnut was used from 1933 to early 1946, and beech from early 1946 to 1958.

Thanks for the heads up. Was able to order one before they sold out. Been wanting to add a K31 to the collection. Aimsurplus seems to have better C&R surplus over others that carry the K31.

I am on the other side of the fence, I would rather have a really nice beech wood example. Walnut stocked K31's are harder to find in really exceptional condition.

Had been watching their site as well. I did like the fact that they post pictures of the exact K31's you would be purchasing. But I had never ordered anything from them and had AimSurplus. The final verdict will be when I unbox the one from Aim.
