If you've got nicely installed Zrak mounts, find one of the ON-76 slavic scopes and make a Bosnian sniper out of it.

| I found a post war Czech k98 barreled action. I found a pretty nice k98 stock. I took it to a GS to have a Zrak mount installed. The rear base of the Zrak mount should be contoured to clear the charging hump. I explained this to the GS. When I went to go pick the rifle up he had milled the charging hump off of the rifle. I was furious. I asked him if he understood what I was talking about and he said "yes", but I was wrong. We went back and forth but I just paid and sold the rifle. He is correct in that Zrak mount "as is" are made for commercial mauser receivers, but need to be modified to be installed correctly on a military mauser receiver. If he would have done it correctly, I could have at least used plugs in the mount holes . Yours has not been modified and looks like its not sitting flat. |

Yes, it doesn't catch the back very good. I also do not like that it blocks the iron sights. Do the hi turret or low turret mounts allow the iron sights to be used? And are they soldered in place or screwed? Properly installed turret mounts allow use of the iron sights. They're typically soldered and screwed. |

Are the Accumounts good? They're okay. If you want top notch quality and 100% accuracy, seek Robert Spielauer. Click Me Looking back, instead of going with Accumounts, I wish I would've sprung for Robert's mounts. I was already a couple of grand into the project, a few hundred more wouldn't have been all that much. |
| Wow! Those look nice but actually cost a lot more than what I paid for the scoped rifle itself. He even has Wa135 waffenamt stamps! I am primarily looking for something better than the hack job mount installation it currently has. I would settle for some work to fill up the tap holes and at least get it back to its unaltered Russian capture state. |
| You won't be able to restore it to a regular Russian capture rifle. It's already been drilled! The damage is done. I think KC-10Boom is right. find a suitable scope and make a Balkans sniper out of it. A little fitting to that rear base and you're back in business. Probably easier to modify the base than the receiver. |
