| The first gun I ever bought was a Springfield 1903 MK1 with a broken stock at the grip that had been repaired. As these things usually do the stock broke on me and I'm currently looking for a new stock for it. The only problem is, I'm not sure what the correct stock for a MK1 is. I've googled it and can't find anything. Can any of you guys help me out on this? |
| The correct would be the straight stock with grasping grooves and the cutout for the ejection port. A proper stock would be any stock made for the M1903 or M1903A3. The OEM replacement stocks can still be had for the right price. Boyds makes stocks but they may need a little fitting. CMP also sells stock sets (Boyds) |

My Mk1 has a very short stock and is uncomfortable for me (6'3" tall with long arms) to shoot. My 03A3 and 03A4 are much more comfortable to shoot due to the longer butt stock. Not correct? Sure, but are you "collecting it" or "shooting it"? Length of pull differs on the S stock vs the C stock by .25", 12.74 vs 12.9. Any shorter, or longer, than that and the stock has been modified or is not military. A rifle with the S stock does seem to have more felt recoil. |
