Sometimes when cycling my Mosin nagant the rounds in the magazine dip down into the magazine instead of going into the chamber?  I always make sure that the rims of the cartidgs are not catching each other does anyone know what causes this?  Thanks.

Be sure that the inside of the magazine is clean, as well as the spring/follower. It's also possible that one or more of those parts are misaligned/bent. They can usually be fixed with a little tweaking.

Mine does it as well.  On a hunch I greased my bolt with a light coat and it hasn't done it in a while.  I think from time to time the bolt just gets a little cocked and decides to do weird things.  The bolt bore isn't very tight on these rifles.

When I'm really running through rounds and being rough it doesn't seem to do it.

Normally that is one of two things. Follower/Spring in the magazine is out of adjustment and not holding up the nose of the rounds. Or Interrupter/Ejector is is out of adjustment causing the rims to catch making the round nose down.

I am with PiGood.  If your interruptor is working, you don't have to arrange your rounds to avoid rimlock.

also with PiGood on the interruptor/ejector. Try working the bolt "smartly". Don't baby it, it's a Mosin. I have one that does the same thing if I don't cycle the bolt "smartly".

Not saying it couldn't be the interrupter, because it could be. However, out of nearly a hundred different Mosins I've owned/shot, I've only ever seen one that had feeding issues from the interrupter and it was actually a problem with the inlet in the stock, where there was a chunk of wood pushing on it. Once that was relieved, it was fine. All of the others (and there have been many) had something misaligned/bent in the magazine. If the gun is clean and everything properly aligned, there should be no need to ram the bolt back and forth to get it to function properly.
