Got this Enfield from my uncle, he bought it from a hardware store years ago; it has been sporterized but would like to know more about it based on the proof marks.

The proof mark in the second pic is:
GR
BSACo
1915
SHTLE

Thanks

It's a sporterized 1915 BSA (Birmingham Small Arms) SMLE Mk. III. Looks like the charger bridge is gone (at least) so there's no restoring that one.

The marks on the left side of the "wrist" are inspection-in-stores marks and would have been view marks (likely Enfield) along with two-digit year dates.

It looked like this originally.

It's missing it's safety as well.

Thanks, does the lack of charger bridge effect its functionality in its current setup

It prevents you from using 5rd chargers to load the rifle. Otherwise, functionality is unaffected.

Thanks for all the info, what would it be worth in its current state? I was hoping to do a straight up trade for a 1903A3 in the future, is this reasonable?

150-200- straightup trade is not happening unless its a 1903a3 that is also sportized.

That's what I figured but never hurts to ask and get an outside opinion

Yep no worries. which bubba realizes this.. sporterizing a rifle takes the rifle down a peg in value.. cutting up a stock and permanently modifying (cutting barrel down) drops it to almost the trash bin on resale ability.
