I've recently come into possession of a Springfield Armory M1903 that I believe to be a NM rifle. Does anyone have a number either to CMP or SA archives to get this puppy verified? I'll post pics as soon as I can.
From what I've read NM rifles and mine have these common features: -Star gauged barrel, -Polished and serial number etched bolt, -"C" stock, I think the technical term is Style 7 or 8 for the time period. -Bolt handle is marked NS for nickel steel, -All of the correct stock markings to include the serial number in the correct place on the bottom of the stock, -Rear sight cover, -NM buttplate, -The trigger is supposed to be tuned, but I have nothing to compare it to. Thanks for any help. ETA: Serial number is in the 1.4 million which should make the production either 1937 or 1938 depending on what chart you look at. |

Yes, that rifle was sold through the DCM as an A1 National Match. If you want the sales record, SRS charges $65. Just send them a request letter with the check and you'll get it in a bit. |
