I'm trying to figure out a way to get both. Right now I can swing one for sure. Might have to sell something else to get me in the ball park for both. Option #1 is a double dated? Gew 98 originally a 1916 Schillings Suhl. It appears to be rearsenaled, and it is not matching. Option #2 is M16 Berthier carbine, apparently all matching and original. What is the better choice of the two? Both come with ammo, and Gew 98 comes with Suhl bayonet. Its a tough one, help me out guys

Yeah thats what I thought. Now I'm second guessing the Berthier. Not that I doubt its originality, but I don't know that I want to shoot something on the regular that kicks like a rhino. Collecting C&R's is certainly not easy... Sure it is, once you get your C&R license.
ETA: If you're looking for something of a shooter, I dont see a problem with the Berthier. You'll get used to the recoil, eventually. |

I've got the license, I just need more disposable income. My LGS has a decent looking Swedish mauser. I might have to go check that out. Decisions, decisions... If the Swede is available at a decent price (under $425 if undinked with) that is the one to go with. You won't be sorry. |
