My kids were watching American Pickers last night and one of the guys picked up what they called a bicycle gun.  I didn't find a tremendous amount of information  on them using Google.  Do they go by a different name?  I was fascinated by the minimalist nature.  Anyone here have one?  I hope they aren't addictive because I 've got a hankering for one now.

IIRC it's was a Garcia Bronco or Firearms International (FI) take-down rifle.

That's very similar to what they showed, but much more modern.  I think the antique one dated from the early 20th century.

Take a look in old Sears and Woolworths catalogs - you'll see them listed there. Turn of the century is the timeframe, and they were a lightweight gun. Primarily designed to deal with dog packs for the early cyclists, at least that's what I recall.

That's the one on the show.  Do want!  Now that I know what it's called, my search results have improved.

Thanks for the leads!

On the show, these were referred to as bicycle guns.  I also see that they are called boy's guns. Is one term more accepted?

The Bronco had to be one of the most unsafe guns I ever owned. The square "safety" on it was easily moved to the firing postion if you looked at it hard. I thought it may have been peculiar to my gun but all had those ill designed safetys.

The "keep you bugger hook off the bang-bang switch" and "your safety is between your ears" really did not apply with that one as the mere act of handling it would push the safety to the firing postion.

I think "Bicycle Rifle" is probably the most accepted term - at least that's what brings up the best results in a search.

IDK about yours but the safety in mine was fine. I had the one in .410 shotshell
But I'll tell ya, shooting 3" magnum loads out of it wasnt fun at all
