| As you already know, its a ramrod bayonet rifle and that matches the serial no. range so I don't think its a parts gun. The CMP sold many of these in the 50's in excellent condition so that may be why its in such good shape. Definitely don't do any more than rub an oily rag on it. I just got a Trapdoor with excellent blue on the barrel and somebody tried to remove some rust patches with a fingernail file or something! My rifle still has dried cosmoline in the cartridge loading area. I'd say its worth whatever somebody is willing to pay, price it high, at least $1500. |
