Found a Gvt. Colt 1911 and looked it up on my C&R book and failed to find it listed
Please tell me I have overlooked it and it is indeed a C&R gun .

The "list" is for guns that are not 50 yrs. or older, but have been accepted as eligible for other reasons. The gun is over 50 years old, so it doesn't need to be on the list to qualify as a C&R, as it already has, due to it's age.

Any gun at least 50 yrs old, in original configuration, excluding reproductions less than 50 yrs old are C&R.

Original configuration means a bubba'd Russian SKS modified with modern stock  is no longer C&R.

"All properly marked and identified semiautomatic pistols and revolvers used by, or mfd. for, any
military organization prior to 1946."

It's line 4 in the C&R list.
